"I just want to make beautiful things."
I used to think the term "artist" was reserved for the "greats," or those people with a degree in studio art. I was "just a photographer" and my art was limited to the photos I took, but now I see that this mentality betrays the very essence of art. Art is not so tangible or something you can hold. Perhaps a "work of art," but art itself is a way of life, pervasive of our every move. From the way you carry yourself, to the way you speak it is all a moving poem, a living painting and a part of an even greater story.
An artist is one who creates.
Through changing my conception of what "art" is, I became an artist. It is a decision we make every day to interpret, express, and create not confined by genre or medium. It is messy and different and diverges from expectation. An artist sees the beauty and the potential within every body and every thing.
Let's make something beautiful together.
My name is Jordan. I take photos, because I never want to forget. I write because I have stories to tell. I study medicine because we all need healing. I write in 4 fonts when I take notes and I cook on Sunday afternoons. I drink jasmine tea to remind me of the people I love.
